Schneider Downs announces that Timothy D. Adams and Donald R. Owens were named shareholders. The promotions are effective July 1, 2012.
Tim Adams, a State and Local Tax Advisory Shareholder, has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting with a focus in state and local tax matters, including income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, incentives/credits, property taxes and employment taxes. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s State Tax Committee; Chair of the Western Pennsylvania Tax Conference; and Member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. Tim holds his B.S. in Accounting from Grove City College.
Don Owens, CPA, CIA, CFF, CBA, CFSA, CRMA, an Internal Audit and Risk Advisory Shareholder, joined Schneider Downs in 2007 as director of the firm’s Internal Audit and Risk Advisory Services practice in Ohio. He has more than 25 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and SSAE 16 and SOC examinations. Don is involved with a number of professional and community organizations, including The Central Ohio Chapter of The Institute of Internal Auditors, both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants; The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants; the Risk Management Association; the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; the Bank Administration Institute and the Ryan Williams Owens Foundation. Don is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania.
