Insights
Schneider Downs was one of 300-plus exhibitors at PIOGA’s Eastern Oil & Gas Conference and Trade Show, August 30 – September 1. We met a number of interesting conference goers, and also gave away a TV, carabineers and a lot of collateral material on the various services our firm offers. Although we have a concentration of oil & gas producer and developer clients, we serve many other industries, including manufacturing, distribution, service and engineering clients.
The diversity of 300-plus exhibitors from many industries was impressive. Naturally companies from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Louisiana were there. However, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois and other states also were well-represented. Our booth was frequently crowded with exhibitors and attendees because we were the only accounting firm with a booth at the show. The wide array of industries that we serve, and services that we provide, led to great discussions among those who visited our booth.
One doesn’t have to look far to see the economic impact that the Marcellus Shale play has brought to this region. It was interesting to learn from the exhibitors how they are positioning and marketing themselves for opportunities. From my discussions with other exhibitors, the trade show was a success. I would like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth and learned more about Schneider Downs.
During the conference, we distributed a list of very important financial questions that are specifically pertinent to the oil and gas industry. If you were unable to attend the conference, but would like more information about those questions (and the answers), be sure to visit our Web site.
