Schneider Downs’ annual Manufacturers’ Economic Survey gathers valuable insight from industry leaders throughout the region, highlighting the major challenges companies are facing, as well as how they’re reacting to and preparing for significant economic changes.
The results of the 2018 survey, released this week, indicate that many manufacturers are most concerned about the workforce shortage, rising labor costs, government regulation, changing technology, succession planning and IT security. The review also provides a snapshot of how manufacturing companies are reacting to important changes recently enacted or on the horizon, including:
- The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
- Trade Tariffs
- The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement
The analysis also focuses on rising concerns surrounding information security, in light of the ever-increasing number of breaches. Impact is considered on both a national and international scale, with the issuance of the General Data Projection Regulation in 2018, impacting those with operations in the European Union.
These results, along with insightful articles from the professionals at Schneider Downs, can be reviewed in a free, downloadable PDF on the Firm’s website. Once you’ve read the report, we hope you’ll take the time to share your feedback with us.
