Do you have a hobby/personal passion?
Music.  I like all types of music.  My playlists are very eclectic.  In a single list you may hear Frank Sinatra, Led Zeppelin, Willie Nelson and Adele.

What was the best advice you’ve ever received?
From my Dad.  “Be sure you marry her” (Regina).  “She’s the best thing that ever happened to you.”  He was right!

Who is your role model?
My Parents.  Neither of them had any sort of higher education, but they were dedicated to their family, had a great work ethic and were never afraid of advancing in their employment.

What was your childhood dream?
To become an astronaut and experience space travel.  I faithfully watched the NASA launches and read about the various space programs.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your college self?
Be sure to think about how the things you are learning in the courses you are taking fit into the “Big picture” of the career you are about to enter.

People would be surprised to know that I…
Struggle with answering questions about myself on questionnaires.

What is the best or most interesting thing about your career?
The people that I work with.  I enjoy working as part of a team and watching how all of the varying strengths contribute to its success!

What was your first job?
I worked at a restaurant called The Horn of Plenty where I wore a chef’s jacket, scarf and hat, and stood at the end of the buffet carving the beef and ham for customers.

Do you have a “motto”? (spoken or unspoken)
Help where you can.  Whether at work, at home or within your community.

When you have an hour of free time, what do you like to do?
I like to work in my yard and tinker with the garden and swimming pool with my dog Sully at my side.

Do you have advice for young professionals?
Be sure to let your supervisor know about the issues that you struggled with, whether you came to a conclusion on the issue or not.  The work product will be improved and both you and the supervisor will learn something.
