Last month, Henry Szymanski from our Auto Dealer Advisory Group and Tom Claassen from our Business Advisory Group represented Schneider Downs as a Bronze Sponsor of the 2014 Pennsylvania Automotive Association (“PAA”) Fall Conference held at the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island, FL.

This year’s conference was hosted by the 2014 PAA Chairman and Allentown, PA native, Andy Scott.  As usual, the conference offered great opportunities for dealer and associate members from across the Commonwealth to network, socialize and keep current on issues facing the automotive industry in Pennsylvania.

Dynamic and informative presentations were delivered by keynote speakers James O’Sullivan, President and CEO for Mazda North American Operations, and Pat Williams from the NBA’s Orlando Magic.  Sales, profits and technology were also at the forefront with presentations from Scott Painter, founder and CEO of TrueCar, and Nan Mossey, VP of Digital Marketing at Potratz Advertising.  Our own Tom Claassen anchored a Fraud Panel of leading Pennsylvania Automotive CPAs in addressing key concerns facing auto dealers across the nation relative to cyber fraud, internal theft and risk mitigation.  And not to be outdone, the PAA Panel of John Devlin, Mark Stine, Chad Marsar and Don Busey provided their usual, invaluable Pennsylvania legal updates.

As a recurring Fall Conference sponsor, Schneider Downs recognizes the importance of the PAA’s ongoing regulatory influence, dealer education and the value and importance of its membership events. Of course, a little sun and sand always enhances the experience and outlook for us Pennsylvania natives!
