International Fraud Awareness Week 2020

Schneider Downs is proud to once again be a supporter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) annual International Fraud Awareness Week. The ACFE established Fraud Week back in 2000 as a way to raise awareness of fraud, and we’ve been an supporter of that effort for several years.

Schneider Downs, as you know, has a long and established role in the fraud investigation and awareness field, through the numerous investigations we’ve performed over the years and our sponsorship of the annual Fraud and Corruption Awareness Seminar. Our Business Advisors group includes a number of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE), including the president of the Greater Pittsburgh chapter of the ACFE.

While Fraud Week only occurs one week per year, the risks of fraud are present year-round. The ACFE estimates that 5% of an organization’s annual revenue is lost to fraud, so it’s important you understand the risks of fraud and ways to mitigate that risk or respond to fraud that’s occurred.
