OUR THOUGHTS ON:

The Music That Keeps Us Moving

Marketing

By Karlye Rowles

Schneider Downs Volleyball TeamYou might think to consult your CPA about taxes, but not about music or certainly not about a workout routine.

Lauren Craig, a member of our Audit team, skydives on weekends and Angela Gillis, a member our Internal Audit team, is a triathlete who listens to Journey and the Beastie Boys during her workouts. Dan Desko, a member of our Technology and Internal Audit teams, recently took up boxing. In addition to those individual athletes, Schneider Downs also has volleyball, soccer, hockey and kickball teams.

Schneider Downs uncovered these stories when we profiled some of our employees who are regular exercisers on Facebook. We asked employees about their workout routines and the music that keeps them motivated to stay active. The music selections morphed into a playlist of songs that include Usher, Kelly Clarkson, AC/DC, Styx, the Gathering Field, the Rolling Stones, Justin Timberlake, Pearl Jam, Childish Gambino, Guns’n’Roses and Blur.

The Facebook posts have been quite popular, garnering a number of likes and comments, including a vote for our CEO, Ray Buehler, to be photographed in his sneakers at the gym. Challenge accepted.

The next time your workout is feeling stale, check out the Schneider Downs Facebook page (or our Pinterest page) for some inspiration, some new music, and to tell us what songs are on your workout playlist. You may be surprised by who and what you find.
