OUR THOUGHTS ON:

Mastering SAS 70 Audit Reports for Service Organizations

SSAE 18/SOC

By Holly Russo

Steve Thompson, Audit Shareholder, and Holly Russo, Internal Audit Senior Manager, were speakers in a Strafford webinar entitled "Mastering SAS 70 Audit Reports for Service Organizations" on June 16, 2010.

Service organizations of all sizes are increasingly asking outside auditors to provide reports on their internal controls under the AICPA's Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70). The webinar was developed to prepare audit professionals to meet a service-oriented client's particular needs with regard to a SAS 70 report, anticipate special challenges in evaluating a service provider's internal controls and their effectiveness, and produce a high-quality SAS 70 report. Key topics covered in the webinar included:

  • Key terms and definitions related to AICPA Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70)
  • Changing uses of SAS 70 reports
  • Audit requirements and preparation tactics
  • SSAE 16/ISAE 3402
