OUR THOUGHTS ON:

Switch to iOS 7 and hate it? Review this article and maybe you will change your mind.

Technology

Lose your music access from the lock screen? Not really. Find it in a new place: The Control Center. This can be accessed by dragging upward from the bottom of the screen. From the Control Center you can toggle on and off the following: airplane mode, wireless access, blue tooth access, AirDrop*, do not disturb, and portrait orientation lock. In a pinch, you can turn on your flash light, change your brightness or access the calculator and timer apps.

iOS7 - Schneider Downs Technology offers tips

Not want to respond to a text with a text? Click on Contact in the upper right hand corner of the screen and you can call or FaceTime.

Want timestamps on all of your text messages? Scroll to the left in the message screen and all of the timestamps will show.

Trouble finding an email address because too many are listed? Click on the i next to the name and the option will show to add as a contact or remove them from your recents list.

Trouble finding a photo? Not anymore. Photos now offer collections by Places, Moments and Years.

Want an easier way to share those photos? Use Airdrop*. When in proximity, you have the ability to send pictures to other apple users. They then have the option to accept or decline photo.

Siri not annunciating properly? Teach her how to properly speak. Respond to her: “That is not how you pronounce that.” She will ask you to say the name again and you can teach her how to get it right. Also, you can also change her to him. Go to SettingsàGeneral SettingsàSiriàVoice Gender.

Here are some other questions on changes to the iOS:

Can’t figure out how to close programs? Double click the button, scroll to the app you want to close and swipe the screen upwards. A much more enjoyable close!

Want to delete a text or conversation? Hold down on a message and the options will become available to delete one part or all of the conversation.
Still not happy? Check these common issues for setting changes:

Running slower or distracted by the movement on your iPhone or iPad? Go to SettingsàGeneralàAccessibilityàReduce Motion and turn it on.

Battery running low too fast? Go to SettingsàGeneral SettingsàBackground App Refresh. To have GPS available, turn off the applications using it but leave the main setting on. This will still help reserve battery life. Turning the AirDrop* off from the control center will also help.

Showing only first name on texts? Got to SettingsàMail, Contacts, CalendarsàContacts SectionàShort Names to select the setting you want to display.

*AirDrop is only available on iPhone 5th generation, iPad 4th generation, iPad mini and iPod Touch 5th generation
