Microsoft Releases Dynamics NAV 2013

On October 1, Microsoft announced the availability of the latest release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV: Dynamics NAV 2013. Dynamics NAV (formerly known as Navision), is an enterprise software application that provides comprehensive business management functionality for more than 94,000 business in over 40 countries.

The Dynamics NAV 2013 release includes key application improvements in the following areas:

  • Cost Accounting
  • Cash Flow Forecast
  • Assembly Management
  • Reporting
  • Item Availability (by timeline and event)
  • Supply Planning
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Job and Service Management


Additionally, the new release includes several IT improvements, including:

  • Portal Framework for Microsoft SharePoint 2010
  • Web client (supports multiple browsers and devices)
  • Deployment options (cloud based or on premise)
  • ClickOnce deployment
  • XMLport development
  • Support of Unicode data storage


Based on the NAV 2013 product literature, Microsoft believes that the release of NAV 2013 better positions its customers to meet their specific business, deployment and work environment needs. As a result, Microsoft believes its customers will have greater insight into business performance, enabling them to make fast, informed decisions to drive growth.
