Cloud Computing for the 21st Century Not-for-Profit Organization

The cloud is a popular buzzword today, but not many people, including cloud users, fully understand the cloud.  As a leader of your organization, it is important to know where your data is actually going, how it is getting there and how it can be accessed - both internally and externally.  Understanding the cloud is the first step to securing your data and utilizing it effectively.  Join Chris Debo, a Senior Manager with our Technology Advisors and Jason Reljac, a Manager with our Technology Advisors as we discuss "Cloud Computing for the 21st Century Not-for-Profit" in three sections:

Understanding the Cloud
We will answer the question in simple terms - "What exactly is the cloud?"  Once you have a better understanding of what the cloud is, we will discuss some opportunities for your organization to utilize the cloud as well as some situations where you should avoid using it.

Securing Your Cloud Data
Whether you're aware of it or not, there are probably people within your organization using the cloud to trade and access information.  It could be transferring documents via Instant Message, or using Dropbox™.  If your employees are already using the cloud, how do you know if that data is secure?  What about if you're actively using the cloud, or plan to move to the cloud in the near future?  Securing your data is paramount to successful cloud usage.

Evaluating the Cost/Benefit of the Cloud
While the cloud discussion may intrigue you, moving to the cloud may not always be in your organization's best interest. Determining whether your business would be best served by a solution in a SaaS, hosted, or on-premise environment takes careful consideration. Before making this decision you will want to consider the cost and benefit of each option. If the ultimate decision is to move to the cloud, a new question could be posed - "What is the skillset needed for today's IT professional to manage the cloud?"

Registration begins at 7:30
Continental breakfast will be provided.
Two CPE credits will be available for attendance, and certificates will be distributed after the session.

We encourage you to share this invitation with IT professionals within your organization.  Please R.S.V.P. by Friday, March 4 and contact Veronica Bucci with questions about this event.
