About Our Speaker
Mr. Lipton is a Partner in Baker & McKenzie's Chicago office and has handled numerous engagements for clients in structuring partnership and real estate transactions, and has provided legal advice relating to tax planning for corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.  He is the head of Baker & McKenzie's Pass-Throughs Group and provides counsel on real estate investment trusts and investment in real estate by tax-exempt organizations and foreign investors.  Mr. Lipton is a nationally recognized speaker on complex real estate transactions and is a regular contributor to numerous real estate and taxation periodicals.  He is the past Chair of the ABA Tax Section and the American College of Tax Counsel, and an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago Law School.
