Ryan R. Deatrick CPA, CCIFP

Ryan started at Schneider Downs in 2009 and provides services to both public and privately held companies, primarily those within the construction and manufacturing sectors. He also has extensive experience serving the employee benefit plans of his clients.

Ryan is a member of the firm’s Construction Industry Group and serves as the firm’s subject matter expert related to Topic 606 Revenue Recognition for companies within that sector.

Ryan provides accounting and assurance services to his client base, which includes planning and managing the execution of the firm’s accounting and auditing approach, evaluating systems of internal control and advising clients on the application of technical accounting matters.


His responsibilities require him to stay current on all recent accounting developments as well as trending business developments within the industries served. Ryan frequently presents during internal firm training seminars and writes articles for the firm’s website.

Do you have a hobby/personal passion?   
Sports has always been a passion of mine.  I’ve always enjoyed playing and watching sports and now have the pleasure of coaching my kids.  

Who is your role model?  
My older brother, Greg.  I had a habit of copying him up until he decided to become a chemical engineer!

What was your childhood dream?  
To be a major league baseball player.

What is the best or most interesting thing about your career?    
My career has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and travel to some neat places.

What was your first job?   
Teller at a Credit Union. 

Do you have a “motto”? (spoken or unspoken)  
Work hard.  Play hard.

When you have an hour of free time, what do you like to do?    
Grab the remote, find a movie I’ve watched many times, and watch it again.

Do you have advice for young professionals?  
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.  Challenge yourself to face new situations.
